out of the mouth of: daddy g

Warning:  If you don't have kids, you probably won't want to read this post.

Baby Z started solid foods a couple weeks ago and yesterday her system was sort of...backed up.  My hubby had to watch her for half the day while I took the older kids to the aquarium for a blogger event and I secretly hoped that Baby Z would do her #2 business while she was with my hubby.  Of course, that didn't happen.  Here is part of my conversation with my hubby:

Me:  Did Baby Z poo today?

Hubs:  Nope.

Me:  Damn Really?  I thought for sure she would have pooped by now.  Wow, she's due for an explosion!

Hubs:  Really?

Me:  Yeah.  Usually when babies start solids, their systems can back up a bit.  You know, since solids are new to their bodies.

Hubs:  Maybe it's too early to start her on solids.  Maybe we should wait.

Baby Z is already 6 1/2 months old.

Me {rolling eyes}: Are you serious?  You're going to starve the kid?

Hubs:  Well it's like people that are in a coma.  They wake up and the first thing they eat is a steak (and then they go #2).  They were fine the whole time they were in a coma.

Cricket.  Cricket.

Yeah, it doesn't really make sense to me either.
