to the man that no one will ever forget

Dear Steve Jobs,

When I heard about your passing yesterday, I {as well as everyone else on this planet} was shocked and saddened.  It wasn't the news I wanted to hear.  In the less than 24 hours since the news was announced, my Twitter and Facebook feeds have been filled with heartfelt messages to you, with quotes that you have made, and the legacy you have left.

I just wanted to share with you, wherever you are, how much of an impact you made on my son Lil J.  At first I was hesitant to get an iPad.  I didn't really need to spend the extra money and I didn't know how much I would use it.  Then my brother made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I scored myself a brand new iPad 2.

That was the best decision I have ever made.

You have taught Lil J the ABC's, how to associate different animals with the noises they make, how to play Angry Birds....and the list goes on and on.  He knew how to use YouTube to watch his beloved Elmo after one time of showing him.  He basically figured out how to use the iPad before I did!

Don't get me wrong.  I don't let him use the iPad all the time.  I use it as a tool for Lil J's learning curve.  I use it when I need some quiet time.  I use it so he can watch his favourite Elmo YouTube video before he goes to bed.  He has learned so many things via the iPad.  It also calms him.

You have made moms' {and dads'} lives easier all around the globe.  You have revolutionized how our kids learn.  How they develop.  And I am forever grateful.

Thank you, Steve  Jobs, for being the visionary for our planet.  May your legacy continue forever.

From,
One Thankful Mama
