In my life before kids, I used to be somewhat of a book hoarder. I loved immersing myself in books and, like some girls are lovers of chick flicks, I was secretly a lover of chick lit. Kinsella, Giffin and Bushnell. Confessions of a Shopaholic, Something Blue, and Sex and the City. There was something about reading these books about the lives of strong but somewhat conflicted women. There was something about their glamorous lives, and something about how I could fantasize about living those lives through the books that somehow made me feel like I could take on the world. If even for an hour or so.
Then came the kids which somehow left me with no time to sit down and curl up with a good read. Instead, I found myself constantly on my smart phone checking social media updates and trying to keep up with the latest celebrity gossip.
And then the Kobo Aura HD entered my life. Why had I waited this long to allow Kobo into my life?? Gone are the days where I have to lug 2-3 books in my purse. With the Aura HD, I had hundreds of books at my fingertips!
I think initially, I loosely compared the iPad with the Kobo and thought that I'd fare better with a traditional book rather than straining my eyes while I read a book on a bright screen. Little did I know, the Kobo is designed specifically for reading which means no glare and no bright screens!
The initial set-up of the Aura HD was easy: simply plug it into your computer with the included USB cord and the step-by-step setup instructions will show up on the screen.
Navigating through you book is as easy as swiping your finger to the left or right. Even a person who considers themselves technology challenged {sometimes that's me!} would be able to figure out how to use their Kobo eReader without assistance. Easy to use, efficient, user-friendly and stylish all at the same time? I'd say the Kobo line of eReaders are a win-win for book lovers everywhere!
