{swank} review & giveaway: Green Your Routine with Seventh Generation

When Seventh Generation was trying to convince me to take their Green Your Routine Challenge, I didn't have to think twice.  It was the best excuse for me to take charge and commit myself and our family towards "greening" our everyday lives.

I have to admit that I probably won't be a crazy "green" person and completely purge my household.  I figure if we start out small such as replacing our usual household products {eg:  all purpose cleaner, dish soap and  laundry detergent} with Seventh Generation products, we would be on our way to making the way we live just a little bit "greener".

Seventh Generation's mission is to "inspire a revolution that nurtures the health of the next seven generations".  They are the nation’s leading brand of household and personal care products that help protect human health and the environment.  Established in 1988, the Burlington, Vermont based company remains an independent, privately-held company distributing products to natural food stores, supermarkets, mass merchants, and online retailers across the United States and Canada {from Seventh Generation's website}.

Once our Starter Kit arrived on our doorstep, I was anxious to start the Challenge.  Not only could my family contribute to preserving our environment for future generations but we could also encourage other families to join us in the Challenge.

Our Starter Kit came with a reusable shopping bag.
Perfect way to start green living!

Seventh Generation products we used to start our Challenge
We started by replacing a few of our household items with Seventh Generation products - Lemongrass & Clementine Zest Natural Dish Liquid, Free & Clear Natural All Purpose Cleaner and Natural 4x Laundry Detergent.  So far, I'm loving how the scents aren't overpowering like most household cleaners.  We have three kids living in our household ranging in ages - from newborn to 12 - and the most important thing for me is to reduce the amount of chemicals that our kids ingest on a daily basis without us even knowing.  However I can make the world my kids live in healthier, I am up for any challenge any day.

I would love for you to join me and take your own Green Your Routine Challenge!  If you want to comment on the Challenge, please feel free to do so on Seventh Generation's Facebook page or via Twitter with the hashtag #GYR and link it to @SeventhGen.

{Win It!}

Seventh Generation would love for you to be in on the Challenge and help you Green Your Routine!  One of our lucky readers will win their own Starter Kit composed of coupons for a complimentary package of Seventh Generation's Free & Clear Dish Soap, Free & Clear Kitchen Spray and 4X Laundry Detergent.  The giveaway is open to Canadian residents only and ends at 9pm PST on Sunday, September 23, 2012.

  9. I went to their website, thank you for the link. I never imagined that they had so many different products. I thought they were just laundry detergent but found that they are so much more. I will buy the handsoap and would love to try the body and face care.
